City Announces Staffing Changes at TLH
September 20, 2017
Today, the City of Tallahassee announced that David Pollard, Deputy Director of Aviation, will serve as interim director of the Tallahassee International Airport (TLH) following the resignation of Airport Director Chris Curry. Curry submitted his resignation to the City today, Sept. 20, upon accepting a position with the Mobile Airport Authority in Alabama.
“We wish Chris the best in his future endeavors and appreciate his contributions to the many accomplishments that our community’s airport has made in recent years,” Tallahassee City Manager Ricardo Fernandez said. "During his tenure, we achieved international status and improved the customer experience through a variety of facility upgrades, which will continue to benefit TLH travelers."
Curry began serving as the Director of Aviation on January 22, 2014, and will continue working in this capacity until his effective resignation date of October 12.
“Thank you very much for the opportunity to lead the International Airport and to work with you over the past year. I have enjoyed working for the City and appreciate the support provided me during my tenure with the Airport,” Curry wrote.
The City will immediately begin the process of searching for a new airport director.
"Through support from the City Commission and residents, we’ve positioned TLH as a leader in growing our local economy and enhanced its critical role in the Big Bend’s transportation network. Having served in a leadership role at the airport for 23 years, as well as serving this country through 22 years of honorable active duty and reserve military service in the United States Marine Corps, David Pollard is highly experienced and has a vast knowledge of airport operations," Fernandez said. “He will maintain the City’s focus on advancing the airport and enhancing air service."
