Agencies Combine Resources to Reduce Drug Problem

Yesterday, the Tallahassee Police Department’s Special Investigations Section combined resources with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office in an effort to reduce street level illegal narcotics sale and use. The effort is the result of citizen complaints of drug activity in their neighborhood. The Tallahassee Police Department and the Leon County Sheriff’s Office arrested 7 people as a result of the enhanced enforcement throughout the Tallahassee community. Additional operations are planned for the future in an all out effort to reduce illegal drugs in our community.
Arrested:
- Andre K McKenzie, B/M, 09/06/92 Charges: Sale of Cocaine Within 1000ft of Public Housing, Resisting Arrest without Violence, and Introduction of Contraband into a Detention Facility. Location: 1010 Basin Street
- Zachary Williams, B/M, 09/03/91 Charges: Sale of Cocaine Within 1000ft of Public Housing, Resisting Arrest without Violence, Possession With Intent to Sell within 1000ft of Public Housing. Location: 1010 Basin Street
- William Groce, B/M, 09/28/86 Charges: Sale of Cannabis and Possession of Paraphernalia. Location: 1600 Block of McCaskill Ave
- Melonie Reese, B/M, 11/30/63 Charges: Sale of Cocaine within 1000ft of a College. Location 2100 Block Wahnish Way
- Harold Reese, B/M, 01/10/57 Charges: Conspiracy to Sell Cocaine within 1000ft of a College, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Civil Contempt (warrant) Location: 2100 Block of Wahnish Way
- Michael Turner, B/M, 02/09/75 Charges: Resisting Arrest with Violence and Felony Theft (both were outstanding warrants). Location: 2100 Block of Wahnish Way
- The 7th arrest was a juvenile for the misdomeanor crime of Resisting Arrest without Violence (The juvenile’s name is not public information).
