Police Make Arrests in Burglary and Domestic Assault Incidents

Last night, at approximately 8:45PM, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a reported burglary in the 4700 Block of Planters Ridge Road. The homeowner explained that a person was walking around on the back porch area and attempted to enter the home through a window. Officer Gary Roy opened a gate leading to the back of the home and found 20 year old Jacob Russell attempting to enter the home through a window. Russell refused to comply with Officer Roy’s verbal commands, after which a Taser was utilized to gain compliance. Russell was arrested without further incident. Russell claimed he had been drinking and using drugs prior to his arrest and was only trying to obtain food from the home.
Arrested

Domestic Assault Ends in Arrest
Last night, at approximately 9:30PM, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a “911” call in the 1200 Block of Hidden Place. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the 27-year-old victim and her three small children. The victim explained that she had an ongoing relationship with 37-year-old Eddie Turner. According to the victim, Turner arrived at her home and began to argue with the victim. Turner is said to have become angry, grabbing a sharp knife from the kitchen. Turner then held the victim and children captive inside the home for approximately 2 hours. Turner continually threatened to cut the victim or anyone who attempted to leave the home. During the crime, the victim utilized a cell phone to call for help when Tuner was not looking.
Turner was still on scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody without incident. When questioned, Turner admitted to using the knife in the above crime. Additionally, Turner was charged with an outstanding warrant for felony battery.
Arrested

Eddie L. Turner, B/M, 11-10-1972. Charges: Burglary with Person Assaulted, Kidnapping/False Imprisonment, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Mischief, and Felony Battery (warrant).
