The Trousdell Aquatics Center to be Closed for Upgrades
January 30, 2014
Swimmers using the Trousdell Aquatics Center will soon be swimming in a newly upgraded pool. Beginning on Friday, Feb. 7, the City of Tallahassee's Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs (PRNA) department will begin making upgrades to the Trousdell Aquatics Center. Some of these upgrades include replacing three large pool filter tanks and repairing the pool liner. In order to make these improvements, the center, located at 298 John Knox Rd., must be closed for approximately three weeks. The center is tentatively set to re-open on Saturday, March 1. The official re-open date will be posted on Talgov.com, as well as PRNA's Facebook and Twitter Pages.
While the Trousdell Aquatics Center is closed, swimmers are encouraged to visit other City pools. While pool repairs are being made at Trousdell, the Wade Wehunt Pool, located at 907 Myers Park Dr., will open earlier at 5:30 a.m. and will close later at 8 p.m. during the week, and will also open earlier at 9 a.m. on Saturday mornings. In addition, the Jack McLean Aquatics Center will be open Monday through Friday during the midday hours of 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. for a noon water aerobics class and lap swimming.
