Children Are Invited to Search for Over 12,000 Egg-spertly Hidden Eggs
March 25, 2013
Families looking for a place to hunt Easter eggs this Sunday need to look no further than the City of Tallahassee's Myers Park. The City's Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs (PRNA) department will host its 54th Annual Easter Egg Hunt this Sunday, March 31. Activities will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. at Myers Park, located at 913 Myers Park Drive.
"We encourage everyone to take part in our Easter Egg Hunt this Easter Sunday," said Mayor John Marks. "This annual event provides wonderful opportunities for children and parents to enjoy each other, while taking in the natural beauty and all of the activities that Myers Park has to offer."
Children are invited to bring their parents for an egg-citing afternoon taking pictures with the Easter Bunny and hunting for those prized Easter eggs. Activities begin at 1 p.m. with games, crafts and music. The Easter Bunny will be also available for pictures until 2:15 p.m.
Promptly at 2:30 p.m., the Easter Egg Hunt will begin. Children 10 and under are welcome to hunt for over 12,000 egg-stra special Easter Eggs. For the hunt, children will be separated into five age groups: 2 and under, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10 years old. Parents will be allowed to help children 4 and under search for eggs.
This event is FREE to all, and parking will be available at Myers Park and across the street at the PRNA Administrative Offices.
This year's sponsors include the Tallahassee Museum, Knott House Museum, Challenger Learning Center, Trousdell Gymnastics Center, Fun Station, Whataburger and Lucy and Leo's Cupcakery.
