City Commission Policy 204 - Athletic Team Travel Policy

204.01 AUTHORITY: Approved by the elected members of the Tallahassee City Commission on November 13, 1991.
204.02 SCOPE AND APPLICABILITY: This policy delineates the teams which receive funding assistance from the City to travel to state-level competition.
204.03 POLICY STATEMENT: It is the intent of the City of Tallahassee to assist City-sponsored youth athletic teams with funds for travel to state-level competition.
204.04 DEFINITIONS:
City-sponsored youth athletic teams: This policy specially relates to youth league and all-star teams participating in City Parks and Recreation league programs who advance to out-of-town state-level competition.
204.05 EXCEPTIONS: No team, youth or adult, that is not included in the specific list of City-sponsored youth athletic teams will be funded for travel by the City of Tallahassee.
204.06 PROCEDURES: Parks and Recreation will include a funding request in each fiscal year operating budget proposal for the teams listed below.
204.07 LEAGUE / TEAMS:
- Florida Minor Major League
- Florida Little Major League
- Florida Junior Major League
- Florida Senior Major League
- Girls 13-14 Softball (Slow and Fast Pitch)
- Girls 15-16 Softball (Slow and Fast Pitch)
- Girls 17-18 Softball (Slow and Fast Pitch)
- Babe Ruth - 13 years Old
- Babe Ruth - 15 years Old
- * Parks and Recreation will request the funds for each team that qualifies for advanced competition.
204.08 ADMINISTRATION: Parks and Recreation will be responsible for the administration of this policy.
204.09 SUNSET REVIEW: Due November 26, 2001.
204.10 EFFECTIVE DATE: November 13, 1991
