STATEMENT OF ISSUE
The meeting schedule for the upcoming calendar year is compiled each fall for adoption by the City Commission. City policy states that regular City Commission meetings are to be held on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month and modifications to this schedule are made when meeting dates conflict with National and Jewish Holidays, Spring Break and Summer Break.
The City Commission adopted the 2009 City Commission Meeting Schedule on September 24, 2008, which includes a regular City Commission meeting on April 8, 2009. The 2009 Passover holiday begins at Sunset on April 8 and continues through nightfall of April 16. Since the April 8 City Commission meeting conflicts with the observance of the Jewish Passover holiday, City Commission is requested to approve moving the meeting date to April 7, 2009.
