Annual Cans for Cash Recycling
Saturday, Nov. 9
November 08, 2013
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Home Depot, 3200 Capital Circle NE
The City of Tallahassee and Keep Tallahassee/Leon County Beautiful have teamed up again to increase aluminum beverage can recycling through the Cans for Cash City Recycling Challenge.
Local schools have been challenged to collect aluminum drink cans and bring them to the weigh-in event on November 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Home Depot, 3200 Capital Circle NE.
In return for their cans and can-do attitude, participants will receive 40 cents per pound for the aluminum cans collected. All area residents may participate and either keep the cash for their contribution of cans or assign the proceeds to Keep Tallahassee-Leon County Beautiful or the school of their choice.
After the event, the cans will be provided to a local business for processing. Recycling aluminum cans not only helps reduce litter but decreases the amount of waste headed to the landfill.
