City Service Changes for Labor Day Holiday
August 30, 2017
The City of Tallahassee's administrative offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Following are schedule changes for the week of September 3-9 for solid waste customers living inside the Tallahassee city limits, StarMetro, the Tallahassee-Leon Community Animal Service Center and City-run community centers.
Solid Waste Schedule Changes
During the holiday week, all residential customers will receive service one day later than their regularly scheduled service. This includes garbage / recycling and yard waste / bulky pickup, which will impact blue week customers:
- Monday customers: Tuesday, Sept. 5
- Tuesday customers: Wednesday, Sept. 6
- Wednesday customers: Thursday, Sept. 7
- Thursday customers: Friday, Sept. 8
- Friday customers: Saturday, Sept. 9
Garbage and recycling containers should both be rolled to the curb for pickup by 6:30 a.m. on collection day, with both containers returned to the home no later than the day after collection. Customers are reminded to separate yard waste piles from any bulky items set out for pickup. Customers needing more information may view solid waste schedules at Talgov.com/YOU or contact City of Tallahassee Utilities at 891-4968.
StarMetro Schedule Changes
StarMetro, the City's mass transit system, will change its operations for the holiday. On Monday, Sept. 4, fixed routes will operate on a Sunday schedule with no night service. Community Transportation Services will also operate a Sunday schedule. There will be no Dial-A-Ride service.
