Two Arrested Following Search Warrant, Illegal Drugs Recovered

On Aug. 27, the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of Palm Beach Street following an investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics.
During the search, members of TPD's Violent Crimes Response Team (VCRT) and Special Investigations Section (SI) discovered more than one pound of marijuana packaged for individual sale, Alpha-PVP, controlled prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, an AR-15 pistol and one handgun.
One suspect was subsequently taken into custody on charges ranging from possession of marijuana with intent to sell to the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Additionally, a second person on scene during the search was taken into custody for outstanding warrants on an unrelated case.
The illegal sale and use of drugs impact everyone and are often linked with more violent crimes. Arrested:
- Ryan Abbott, 31, for possession of a controlled substance, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, destruction/tampering with evidence, selling marijuana within 1,000 feet of a university, keeping public nuisance structure for drug activity and possession of paraphernalia
- Anthony Baker, 52, for outstanding warrants
