TPD Makes an Arrest After a Shooting Incident on Stuckey Avenue

The Tallahassee Police Department’s quick response to a shooting incident on Sunday night at 8:33 p.m., led to the arrest of Jerald Williams. Officers arrived at 1602 Stuckey Avenue after reports of gun shots in the area were received. An extensive on-scene investigation was conducted by patrol officers with the assistance of investigators from the Violent Crimes Unit. Officers quickly located Mr. Williams in the area, matching the description of the suspect.
A search warrant was obtained for Mr. Williams’ residence, signed by the Honorable Judge Dodson. During the search, investigators located a 9mm handgun. The gun had been previously reported stolen during a residential burglary reported to TPD on April 2, 2018.
Mr. Williams is a Florida Convicted Felon and was arrested for the stolen firearm located in his possession. The firearm was impounded at the Tallahassee Police Department as evidence. Mr. Williams was transported to the Leon County Detention Facility for processing. For further details, the probable cause affidavits are attached to this release and have been redacted in accordance with Florida Statute 119.07(2)(e) & 119.071(5)(a).
