The closure of Sixth Avenue from Monroe Street to Thomasville Road has been rescheduled. The closure will now begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, and be completed by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, weather permitting. The contractor may complete the work prior to Wednesday afternoon and immediately re-open the road to traffic. This temporary road closure will allow a contractor to install a sanitary sewer line as part of the site development activities at The Lofts at Midtown.
Local access will be maintained during the closure for residents and businesses located along this portion of Sixth Avenue. Variable message signs will be in place by Thursday, Oct. 3, to alert motorists of the closure, and a detour route will be clearly marked to direct motorists during the closure.
