As part of an ongoing stormwater improvement project, the roundabout at Killarney Way and Shamrock Street will be closed to traffic starting Monday, April 8 (PDF map). The closure is expected to last approximately three months.
Detours around the closure will be posted. Motorists will be detoured using Killarney Plaza Drive, Cavan Drive, Donegal Drive, Roscommon Drive, Shamrock Street and Foley Drive.
Access to all businesses near the roundabout will be maintained during construction. Business entrance signs will be placed to aid motorists in continuing to patronize these shops.
The primary goal of this project is to reduce the frequency and severity of flooding in and around the roundabout intersection of Killarney Way and Shamrock Street. Work also includes improving surface water quality by expanding the existing stormwater management facility (holding pond) in the Kenmare Commons subdivision off Killarney Way. The work at the roundabout is part of the final phase of the stormwater improvement project.
