This weekend, the Tallahassee-Leon Community Animal Service Center (ASC) will host a Super Crazy Cat-A-Tonic Kitty Extravaganza! This feline exclusive event provides adopters the opportunity to set their own fee for adoption. Find the purr-fect furry friend and the ASC will accept any amount you decide as the adoption fee. The event will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4:30 p.m.
All cats adopted through the ASC are micro-chipped, vaccinated, collared (with an ID tag) and many are already spayed or neutered. If the cat/kitten you'd like to adopt has not been fixed, a $50 deposit (fully refundable with proof of surgery) will be required.
If you're concerned about finding the right feline fit for your family, the ASC's staff can help answer questions about temperaments and personalities in order to help make the best possible match with potential adopters. Remember to bring your cat carrier with you to ensure a safe ride home for all.
"Cats make wonderful companions. They are playful, affectionate, independent, self-cleaning animals that will keep you smiling with their antics," said ASC Director Erika Leckington. "They don't need to be housebroken since using a litter box comes naturally to them. Cats are also good indoor pets that don't need a lot of space to thrive, making them the perfect pet for someone living in an apartment or smaller home."
The Animal Service Center, located adjacent to Tom Brown Park at 1125 Easterwood Drive, is operated and maintained by the City's Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department.
